Two years ago my daughter was taken to hospital in a ambulance under “blues and twos” after taking a severe asthma attack, it took the Doctors and nurses three days to stabilise her before she could breathe on her own, a scary time for her and our family. This was just one of many incidents she endured over a period of six years.  Some children grow out of asthma but not all are that lucky.  The work of Asthma UK through research and development produces ground breaking new drugs (not just inhalers) to help both new and long-term sufferers. The “Kick A” children’s asthma camps help to educate children with asthma and enable them to gain independence.  Without some of this help my daughter’s life would be a very different one today. Continued help and assistance from Asthma UK has changed my daughter from the very ill girl on the left to the one on the right – a keen member of the ATC who regularly runs round Gartmorn Dam in full kit!
Kilimanjaro
Trek

To support this great charity I am planning on walking Africa’s highest peak at 5896m, Kilimanjaro is also the highest freestanding mountain in the world. Huge permanent glaciers flow from its snow-capped summit, which rises high above the dusty plains; these views are the reward for pushing your body limits both physically and mentally.

I am hoping that companies would be interested in sponsoring me or running their own events to help me to raise the £4000 I am hoping to raise for this great charity. All my own costs will be covered by myself meaning all money raised will go to Asthma UK.

In return for the heights donators I am happy for them to use me in any PR work and would be happy to wear their company logo on any of my clothing as well as photos taken on route branding their logo. I am planning on several money raising events throughout the year including the Glasgow 10k, Ben Nevis and a Charity night at the Dunmar House Hotel with the brilliant “First Class” supplying the entertainment (www.firstclassmucic.net) along with a first class buffet! on Friday 23rd October please contact myself or the hotel for details.

Thank you for your support
